I’m a 31 yr old Latina. I’m on a journey to get healthy and become fit. My motivation is that I want to start a family and be a good role model for my kids. I’ve been overweight my entire life but I’ve recently had “that moment” when I decided that I need to change my lifestyle and become healthy. This happened in January 08. I weighed in at 265 lbs. I’m now down to 229 +/- 2lbs and I’m working towards my goal of 180 lbs +/- 5 lbs.
I’ve tried it all: weight watchers, jenny craig, slim fast, optifast, atkins, LA weightloss, the you-are-what-you eat, e-diets… did I miss any!?! Most recently I decided to get help from the obesity clinic and a local hospital. So far it’s working, it’s been SLOW…but I guess that’s a good thing. I’ve also joined a gym, which has helped me get through my last plateau (when I was in the 240’s) but now I’m in SERIOUS need of new motivation. I’ve still got 50-60 lbs to go.
I’m looking for support and to share stories.
I’m also trying to find a better term than “losing weight” b/c it’s taken a WHOLE lot of work, this isn’t like I lost a sock or losing keys… so if anyone has a better term please let me know.
